January Challenge – Do Something Great for Social Justice

Starting on January 1, 2018 and continuing throughout the entire month, Free To Run Foundation is challenging their supporters, as well as abolitionists and social justice advocates everywhere to Do Something Great for Social Justice. Every year on New Year’s Day, our longest running event, the World Race for Hope 5k, takes place in Troy, Ohio. Those who cannot be there in person but want to support the cause can participate virtually, by running or walking 5 km anytime during the month, wherever they are. That is just one way to do something great in January. We encourage you to think about your skills, talents and passions, and how they can be used to raise awareness, raise money, encourage advocacy and support a human rights or social justice issue.

We want to create a movement of social justice advocacy, that with momentum will continue well past January and continue to grow. The first step is to sign up using the form below. There is no cost to participate. We just want your commitment to do something in January. After you sign up, we will send you an email confirming your sign-up, and that will include information about creating a fundraising page. Fundraising is optional but there are some cool incentives once you reach certain levels, like an Inspiration Kit from our partner Live A Great Story, a Do Something Great t-shirt, and a chance to win a trip with Journey in 2018.

If you would like to sign up for the Virtual 5k race, visit https://runsignup.com/worldraceforhopetroy.

Live A Great Story
